  • Cotton soaked in 0.5% dichlorvos 76 EC (5 ml / lit.) can be kept inside the bore hole and plugged with mud

Biology

  • Full grown larva is fleshy white in colour
  • Adult is a large, stout grey coloured longicorn beetle with two pink dots and lateral spines on thorax

 
Nature of damage

  • Beetle feed on the bark of living unhealthy trees by gnawing or eating the green tips
  • Larval tunnels packed with very coarse frass of wood and bark

Grub feed on meristem in the beginning and later deeper in sapwood

Management

  • Unhealthy trees should be felled and converted before the emergence of adults
  • Cotton soaked in 0.5% dichlorvos 76 EC (5 ml / lit.) can be kept inside the bore hole and plugged with mud
